Michaelmas Term Week 4 Concert: Monday 4th November

OUMS Chamber Music presents the first concert in its Michaelmas Term 2019 concert series. This concert is free and unticketed.

Doors will open c. 5:40pm.

Programme will include:

Arensky – 3 Quartets, op. 57 for SATB and solo cello (ca. 1902)

Borodin – 3 Songs for voice, cello and piano (ca. 1854)

Tchaikovsky – Selections from Romances, op. 38 and 73

OUMS Chamber Music is pleased to announce our concert series for Michaelmas Term 2019. We would love to see you at our first concert of the year:

An Evening of Russian Song (Monday 4th November)

A concert showcasing Russian chamber music with voices, featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Borodin and Arensky.

Performers: Áine Smith, Margaret Frainier, Will Anderson, Filippo Turkheimer, Florian Michael (voices), Sebastian Reidl (cello), Bethan Winter (piano)

Pre-concert talk (6pm)

Philip Bullock, Professor of Russian music and author of Pyotr Tchaikovsky (Critical Lives), will join Margaret Frainier, mezzo-soprano and DPhil candidate researching Russian opera, for a half-hour conversation about the programme.
